Does anyone know the name of the condo complex at the northern most point of Ocean Blvd in Cherry Grove? Has anyone stayed there? Would like to give them a try.....
Condos at north end of Ocean Blvd?
Ocean Blvd. ends at Inlet Point Villas. That%26#39;s probably what you are talking about. Seems like there are about 10 low rise buildings (about 3 stories each). 2 or 3 face the ocean, the rest wrap around the inlet (inlet views). It%26#39;s a very unique location as the beaches, ocean, and inlet all converge in this area (very cool!). When it%26#39;s low tide there are lots of wade pools and the beach goes out a couple hundred hards. When it%26#39;s high tide, ocean is against the rocks and there is no beach. Units are older, so depends which unit you get as to quality. It%26#39;s very quiet in this location and there is no shopping, restaurants w/in walking distance (in case that%26#39;s important to you). Elliott Realty has about 8 units for rent in this complex, so look close at the pictures for views and furnishings if you book through them.
Condos at north end of Ocean Blvd?
My advice would be to stay at Seaside. Cherry Grove area is overrun with teenagers and party scene. If you want a quiet vacation avoid the north area.
';overrun w/ teenagers and a party scene';? Are we talking about the same Cherry Grove????????????????? Way off on that one.
Go drive by any night of the week and you will see teenagers running everywhere. Just returned and I know I%26#39;m not way off on this one. Ocean Blvd. is overrun with kids on the north end !
You full of it! I can take a video now if you%26#39;d like....I%26#39;m in the OD section but know for a fact the any section in NMB is fairly calm and docile with great family atmospheres.
First I%26#39;ve ever heard of too many teens on Ocean Blvd in Cherry Grove. Might see some walking around. No big deal. It is a family type area. You can%26#39;t keep them locked up. Can%26#39;t leave them home when they turn 13. I%26#39;ve never had any problem in Cherry Grove.
Now that I think about it, we have had birthday parties 3 times in Cherry Grove....my son%26#39;s 2 year, daughter%26#39;s 4 and 5 year. So technically, I guess, it%26#39;s a party scene. We even had balloons!
We have stayed at inlet point villas for the past 5 summers. We love it there. There are actually 16 units. There are set up weird but units 13, 14 15, 1, 2 ,3 are basically ocean front the rest have inlet , marsh or canal views. My kids are 5 and 12. If you get one of the above mentioned unit you can sit on your balcony and watch your kids on the beach. There is a beach left at high tide also. At low tide you can swim over to Waites Island and explore. This year there was a huge sand bar that the kids liked playing on. There is more birds and wildlife if thats what your in to. Yes ,it is quiet no riff raff. The complex has a pool, basketball and tennis courts. There is no evalvators so 3rd floor is a lot of carrying. We try for second floor. We are not much for eating out all the time so we fix most of our meals there. There is pizza delivery and a few places up ocean blvd. 17 is not that far. Little River is not far. If you like the crazyness head for Myrtle Beach not North Myrtle.
We are leaving for NMB next week. I haven%26#39;t been there for years, but was in hopes that it was still quiet and easy going atmosphere. Now that the kids are back in school, I am sure it should be anyway. So many people say we won%26#39;t reconize NMB now. That kind of scared us in going back but those of you who live there or has assured us that it is still the family quiet beach we remember and love. Thanks for the report. It helps.
The far south end of NMB has changed the most. NMB is still very quiet and famly atmosphere. You shouldn%26#39;t be disappointed.
Windy Hill has really built up into a large wall of highrise condos.
Atlantic is still undeveloped. I know it%26#39;s not really part of NMB but thought I%26#39;d throw it in there.
Cresent has been building up. Still some houses stuck here and there between the highrises. Some smaller condo buildings.
About the same for Ocean Drive. Couple of new large places there. MarVista and Wyndham Ocean Blvd are huge. Main Street is pretty much unchanged.
Cherry Grove hasn%26#39;t changed a lot. Still a lot of houses scattered in between the condos. Some large buildings but most are still in the five to six story range. Newest addition there would be Prince Resort built in front of Cherry Grove Pier. Cherry Grove Manor is gone. Being replaces by highrise. As of July site prep work was just beginning. New highrise on second row at north end of Tighlman section.
Sea Mountain Highway hasn%26#39;t changed any.
Rt 17 has changed a little. Large shopping center a little north of Main Street. Wal Mart and Home Depot/Lowes. Both or just one. Can%26#39;t visualize it now.
The Grand Prix Go Karts and amusment park are gone. Taken out last year. New shopping center going in on that property. Everything else about the same.
If you ate at Outrigger, it%26#39;s been closed for several years now.
