You will need a car to see the sights around Charleston. YOu need to give more info before suggesting ';where to stay';. Do you want a luxury hotel, cheap motel, B %26amp; B, mid-range, beach house...etc... please specify. Best wishes.

Read through the forum about staying in Historic Charleston or down in Kiaway or over in Mt. Pleasant or IOP.
Where you stay mostly depends on what you want to do. Explore the city only, stay in the city. Want to stay on the beach and explore the city and outlying area, stay near or on a beach so you can start and end your day there.
