14th Ave N has a Pier and 2nd Ave S, both are closest to your location. Broadway at the Beach between 21st Ave N and 29th Ave N has something for everyone, dining/entertainment/shopping. Cherry Grove is nice pier and if you have time, certainly nice drive. I would drive Ocean Blvd as much of the way as you can. There are certain areas that OB does not go all the way thru and you have to get back on 17, but few blocks later you can cut back down to OB.

Wow, 3 weeks, lucky you. Much as I love vegging on the beach for 1 week, you will definitley want other things to do for that long period of time.

Have you considered a day trip to Charleston? We did that a few years back while staying a week at Hilton Head Island %26amp; really enjoyed the city.

There is a cute winery up north called La Belle Amie (sp?). You can do wine tasting %26amp; they have a little gift shop. Nice sitting areas outside to relax %26amp; enjoy a glass of wine.

And there is always Barefoot Landing %26amp; Broadway at the Beach.

Another day trip is Wilmington about hour and half from MB, absolutey wonderful downtown area on riverfront. You can park and walk to everything, dining/entertainment/shopping. Across the river is the USS North Carolina battleship, you might enjoy. On way to Wilmington, go thru Southport and you can ride the car ferry to Ft. Fisher, nice aquarium, takes you thru Carolina Beach, up River Rd to Wilmington, come back Hwy 17 to MB.

Wow - 3 weeks at the beach! Lucky you!!

Yes, Wilmington would be a great day (or two) trip. Beautiful area.

HI,

I would highly recommend driving to Charlston for one day. (aount 90 minutes from Surfside Beach SC)My family and I were just there this past June and enjoyed Charlston very much. We started at the visitors center and toured 4 world war 2 ships at Patriots Point. We went to the aquarium(okay) and then walked around the Historic District. It kind of felt like being in New Orleans. We found an Irish Pub with great food and atmosphere which we want to return someday. We then walked to Waterfront Park and watched the sailboats and kids play in the fountain. The park was beautiful. We really liked walking around the historic district on the stone and brick streets. They also had flea markets like in New Orleans. Hop on a carriage ride if you prefer they are all over. We want to go back some day for a weekend get away. We also enjoyed mini golf at ';Atlantis'; in Myrtle Beach. We liked Broadway at the Beach and had a really fun time at Jimmy Buffet%26#39;s Margaritteville. We also enjoyed eating twice at Ultimate California Pizza in Surfside. We really likes Surfside because the beach(and city)was great with less people. We did see many big sand sharks(both beaches) and one big jellyfish. It is fun to go to Surfside Pier at night and watch people catch the baby sharks and stingrays.

Have a good time, we did, Sandy
