Need feedback on plans for September to HH

I would greatly appreciate any feedback from locals and/or regular visitors. This will be our first trip to Hilton Head, we usually vacation in the Florida panhandle (Orange Beach, Destin, etc.). We are looking forward to a new experience! After reading this forum and other travel sites, I have the following tentative plans...

Arrive Friday or Saturday:

Check-in at Palmetto Dunes, Rent Bikes, Grocery Shop (Fresh Market was recommended, any other sources for organic produce?)

Ideas for dinner (do you have any favorite entrees you recommend?):

- Old Fort Pub (someone recommended the key lime pie and chilled pineapple with candied ginger)

- Westin Hotel Sunday brunch (open 11:00 - 3:00)

- Signe鈥檚 Bakery (has anyone been here for lunch? Curious about their to-go boxed lunches for drive home)

- Alexander鈥檚

- CQ鈥檚

- Camellia Grill

- Michael Anthony鈥檚

- Sage Room

- Studio

- Ocean Grille

Activities:

- Beach, golf, and/or tennis

- Sea Pines day trip to horseback ride on trails (Lawton Stables), visit Salty Dog Caf茅 (heard there is live music?)

- Breakfast at Signe Bakery and trip to Visitor Center for Gullah Heritage Tour

- Any recommendations for things to see/do in Savannah and Charleston or are we better off staying put in Hilton Head?

Thank you for your time and recommendations!!

A day trip t Savannah is a must. A carriage tour will take you through the historic district. If you have%26#39;nt seen Garden of Good and Evil pick up a copy before you visit. Ghost tours are interesting but are given rather late. Everyone tries to eat at Paula Deens but I would reconmend Mrs. Wilke%26#39;s while in Savannah. If you love the beach it will be hard to leave HH. Exploring on bikes is what we love to do we have foud some interesting resturants and historic places while bike ridind. As for resturants we like Skillets, The Crab House, Hudsons and Alexanders. Charleston is also nice but a little far for a day trip if your planning on seeing the whole town. Signes has a very good breakfast I havent tried them for lunch. We stay in Shelter Cove above Scotts Fish Market, Harbourside 1 and had free nightly entertainment every night just by sitting on the balcony.

Wow--it sounds like you have done your homework. You picked out some excellent restaurants.

Sea Pines is certainly nice to visit. The Salty Dog is a great place to get a t-shirt and an OK place to grab a bite. I would also go to Harbour Town and walk around.

Charleston is a bit too far for an easy daytrip.

Savannah is a short trip with a lot to see and do. I would recommend Mrs. Wilkes%26#39; Dining Room http://www.mrswilkes.com/ if you go on a weekday for lunch and touring some of the historic houses (a lot to choose from).

I hope you have a great trip.
