Well, if you are planning on a destination wedding in Myrtle Beach you have made a great decision! We just returned from a 2 week trip and here%26#39;s our report!
Friday (August 10th) we had our rehearsal dinner in a 2 bedroom Royale Palms condo unit (part of Kingston Shores/Kingston Plantation) We used a local caterer from Loris, SC, named Kim Hardee. Her menu was amazing! She was incredibly reasonable and her presentation beautiful. The food was delicious. We had a menu of diver scallops, lobster spread, orzo salad, rolls and strawberry butter, twice baked potato casserole, her award winning crepes (won best of the best in Myrtle Beach) and an amazing pineapple cheese pound cake. There were many other things on the table that I hadn%26#39;t ordered but Kim just loves to make everyone happy~and she did!
The wedding ceremony was outside at the Hilton. Absolutely gorgeous! Mark Gladden, our floral designer, went above and beyond the call of duty! His floral creations were unlike anything I have ever seen. He had his gazebo decorated and set up at the ceremony site. Rose petals lined the walkway to the gazebo. I felt like we were walking through a botanical garden at the reception. Each table arrangement was different yet they all blended together. The reception was on the 16th floor of the Hilton. Amazing views.
The Hilton staff was fantastic and the food was delicious.
Our DJ, a local police officer in Myrtle Beach, Jeff Benton was great. He has an incredible selection of music and there wasn%26#39;t one moment when the dancefloor was empty. He stayed an extra 1/2 hour because no one wanted to stop the party!
We used Lisa Young photography and I can%26#39;t wait to see the photos. Her staff (there were 3 there) were wonderful. They took so many photos and yet you didn%26#39;t even realize they were there. I just wish I could post photos of the flowers by Mark Gladden. I can%26#39;t say enough good things about him. He is truly a floral genius.
My husband surprised the bride and groom by hiring an airplane to fly over during the ceremony with a banner of congratulations. When the ceremony ended all the guests that were watching from the balcony of the HIlton applauded. It was truly a glorious event. If anyone is considering a destination wedding in Myrtle Beach let me know if you have any other questions. Oh, and the cake was from Icey Pastry Productions in North Myrtle Beach. There wasn%26#39;t any left because it was so good!
The next morning we had a brunch in the ballroom again. The banquet manager had everything looking as beautiful as the night before. Their staff was very accomodating and we were very pleased with the service.
Sunday night many went to Crocodile Rocks at Broadway at the Beach.
Bride and Groom left Monday morning for their honeymoon.
Monday night was a group to Dixie Stampede.
Tuesday night I had a group of 30 at Greg Norman%26#39;s Grill. They set up 3 tables outside by the intracoastal waterway. Views and service were perfect!
Thursday night the 5 of us that were left went to Divine Fish House in Murrell%26#39;s Inlet. Then we walked the boardwalk by all the restaurants. Fantastic restaurant and Murrell%26#39;s Inlet is so beautiful.
What can I say? It was truly the wedding they%26#39;d dreamed of and Myrtle Beach was the perfect setting!
Now, just hope the honeymooners get out of Cancun tomorrow before Hurricane Dean gets there!
