Hotel recommendations please

Hi there

We are spending one night in Charelston (October20th) before flying home, after a week%26#39;s holiday in Myrtle Beach. Does anyone have any recommendations for an area to stay in? We will have spent a few days visiting Charleston while on our holiday so will hopefully have seen everything we are interested in, but still would like to be central. How far is the airport from the historical district? We have a VERY early flight out and will have a rental car to return. Is it worth staying near the airport because of these issues? Thanks for any advice.

The airport is 12 miles from the historic district...very early in the morning it shouldn%26#39;t take you more than 20 minutes to get to the airport.

If you want to stay downtown consider the French Quarter Inn or Harbourview Inn...both are 4 Diamond hotels with wonderful locations right in the historic district. For more affordable options downtown consider the Elliott House Inn, Andrew Pinckney Inn, or the King Charles Inn...all are 3 Diamond hotels in the heart of the historic district...Elliott House and Andrew Pinckney are more boutique hotels...25 rooms for the elliott house and 41 for the andrew pinckney.

If you end up stayin%26#39; closer to the airport consider the North Charleston Inn, Wingate Inn, or the new Residence Inn by Marriott.

Enjoy your stay in Charleston.

The rental car return at CHS is at the terminal, so there are no shuttle buses to contend with. Staying in the historic district before your early flight should not be a problem.

Thanks so much for the relies. We will take a look at the places mentioned.

We stayed at the Renaissance. Beautiful hotel and it%26#39;s walking distance to everything. We also loved being able to walk at night and not worry about driving back to the hotel. If you%26#39;re only going to be there one night, definitely stay inside the historic district so you can enjoy your day to the fullest.
