My golf itenerary for next week

Greetings,

My brother and I (with our wives) will be in myrtle beach next week staying at Kingston Plantation. We are decent golfers (handicap of 22) and have set up the following rounds of golf based on the price ($50 and under), tee times available (must be before 8:00 a.m. for heat/humidity) and location to our hotel.

Monday - Beachwood

Tuesday - Possum Trot

Wednesday - Waterway Hills

Thursday - Arcadian Shores

any feedback on these as we have never played them before. also, any recommendations for friday??

thanks,

matt

Wish TONYMIK would chime in here! Any other time you can%26#39;t shut him up :o)

Go to the right of Myrtle Beach Forum where it says search-type in golf and see what you get. This is a fairly common question about golf courses and TONYMIK seems to be the encyclopedia when it comes to recommendations.

My husband plays in a golf tournament this Saturday-hot as heck down here, 8am tee time but man. He hit a bucket of balls the other evening and was still very hot.

They%26#39;re decent low to mid level courses. Check the paper for other deals or play after noon to try better courses at the same price or lower.

Possum Trot= usually in top condition and has one of the best practice facilities in Myrtle.

Arcadian Shores = Sometimes has conditioning problems but I like it a whole lot and has been fine the last two times I was there.Back in the 70%26#39;s it was rated around #97 in GOLF Digest';s top 100 courses you can play.

Waterway Hills= Decent layout with some neat holes. Some short par fours.Area around greens c

an be a little worn this time of year.

Beechwood=A locals course rumored to be closing in the future.

For Friday try Black Bear or Indian Wells.

Hart1=little rough around the edges but can be playable especially on Friday nights.

By the way I would not suggest playing in the afternoon. You will do just fine with these you have selected. All are close to where you are staying and the lack of housing on these courses is a plus.If you want to upgrade for Friday see what price you can get at Pearl East.

this is great stuff. i thank you all so much.

That Hart1 course is tough, but you outta see the Hart1.5 course-might see some wild animals there. You are so funny Tony!

Tony what do you think about the Little River courses, I know you like River Hills, how about Glen Dornach, Heather Lakes-have you ever played Eagles Nest? Golf tournament at Eagles Nest tomorrow, Hart1.5 is playing in, never been there.

should i dump beachwood for myrtlewood?

We lived at Myrtlewood last year, 8th hole, did not play it, but it appeared to be good course, and I hear people like to play it. I am sure Tony has been there.

Myrtlewood is better than Beachwood. Play the Palmetto course at Myrtlewood. I don%26#39;t care for Black Bear. Sandpiper Bay would be a good choice.

River Hills is about as bad as it gets in the Grand Strand. Glen Dornoch and Heather Glen are nice....target golf. Eagles Nest is OK.
