Folly Beach

Restaurants on Folley Beach? Also, any local/out of the way places b/w Savannah %26amp; Charleston? Looking for good BBQ %26amp; Soul Food...off the beaten path? (These are 3 separate ???%26#39;s...)

Folly Beach

Some restaurants on Folly are Taco Boy, Snapper Jack%26#39;s, Lil Mama%26#39;s, Woody%26#39;s, the Grill on the fishing pier, Crab Shack, Lost Dog Cafe. If you are staying on Folly, you can walk to all of these these in a matter of minutes.

Folly Beach

Between Savannah and Charleston:

For barbecue, we like Bessinger%26#39;s on Rt. 17 (the Savannah Highway). Excellent fresh pulled pork. Vegetable sides are very good. You can eat a plated meal in the sandwich shop, or opt for the all-you-can-eat buffet ($9.95???).

Not as good as Bessinger%26#39;s for the pork, but very local, cheap, and ';out-of%26#39;the%26#39;way'; is JB%26#39;s Smokeshack on Maybank Highway on John%26#39;s Island. JB%26#39;s is open Wednesday through Saturday. There are lots of options on the posted menu, but I have never known anyone to choose anything other than the $7.95 buffet.

Closer to Charleston on Maybank Highway, on the left, shortly before the road over to Folly Beach, is The Mustard Seed. The Mustard Seed%26#39;s daily lunch and dinner specials, especially those featuring fresh seafood, are always winners. Save room for a piece of cake.
