Help with planning a perfect charleston /savannah vacation

I live just out side of Atlanta in Flowery Branch. I just hosted my husband%26#39;s parents age 60 for a week. We took them to see the sites of Atlanta. Atlanta is a large city with a lot to do and see. It is also not a place for tourists to wander at night. Many people and law enforcement officers from New Orleans have moved into the area. Since their arrival Atlanta has experienced an up-surge in crime.

We took his parents to the Atlanta Aquarium - Very crowded, worth it only if you you do not mind rude parents with small children and large strollers. The Aquarium is very well done. The animals are wonderful. The owner of Home Depot Bernie Marcus and his wife gave a great gift to the city.

We took them to the Atlanta Zoo. Also first class. Lots of walking very hot and humid.

World of Coke is new. I have been to the old one it was ok. It is air conditioned.

The Muiseum of High Art is great. So is Fernbank.

Stay away from amusement parks (Six Flags) and Music Venues.

Lake Lanier is beautiful. We live there and use the lake for fishing.

My husband and I spent a wonderful weekend sneak away alone trip in Atlanta last Christmas Eve weekend. The city was for the most part deserted. We went to Underground Atlanta and to the world of Coke. We went to the Zoo. It was so cold the animals did not show up for work. They just stayed inside. It was still very fun having the park to our selves. We also went ice skating at Centinnial Park. We stayed at the Omni Hotel across from Centinnial Park. The entire hotel was deserted. We were up graded to the finest room. The service was wonderful. On Christmas Eve, we dined alone in the restaurant over-looking the park. The cheif waited on us and served us. We invited the staff to sit with us. After dinner the staff called a horse drawn carriage so we could see the city. They arranged for door to door pick-up.
