Fire Island Grill or T Bonz at Barefoot

Looking for a nice place to eat near Barefoot Landing. If these are not good please give me others. We ate at Phillips Seafood last night. Ok but portions a little small. We have a party of 8 (4 kids) seafood a must. Thanks

Given the choice, I%26#39;d go T-Bonz. I%26#39;ve been to Fire Island Grill twice and haven%26#39;t come away overly impressed. T Bonz always does a good job. We%26#39;ve been to California Dreamin (just south on 17) a few times lately and have been quite impressed.

Portions and prices are quite reasonable. They make a great margarita as well.

I would say if you are going with just you and your husband then Fire Island Grill would be great. I just came back from there and had a night away from the kids and this is where we chose. I loved it. I had chicken, shrimp, and vege skewers with 5 assorted dipping sauces. We also loved the atmosphere with the low lighting and candlelight with tropical theme, very nice. TBonz I didnt get to go there but that may be a better place for the kids. Save Fire Island Grill for a night when you dont have the kids.

California Dreaming just opened in North end, Briarcliff area on Hwy 17.

Dynamites at Dock Holidays is restaurant/bar located on Intracoastal Waterway. Indoor/outdoor dining with live entertainment in the evenings-children are welcome, food is good, behind Hooters on Hwy 17 in Cherry Grove area. Its about 8 miles from Barefoot but would be something different-next door is Marina Raw Bar-seafood.

Bonefish Grille, Chesapeake House, and Chestnut Hill are not far and all have good seafood. But my favorite is Landry%26#39;s at Broadway At The Beach.I had blackened catfish and the wife grilled halibut and both were very good.

T-bones used to be our favorite at Barefoot but the last few times we have not happy with the quality of the food. We tried Fire Island last year and were not overly impressed. Umberto%26#39;s Pittsburgh Italian Trattoria is now our favorite at Barefoot. We also love Bonefish grill a few miles up 17.
