I%26#39;m staying at this resort beginning this Saturday and was reading mixed reviews of the place. Can someone please set the record straight and give me a genuine review of this resort?

Thanks for the worthless response. Wasn%26#39;t looking for suggestions on what to do, was looking for an actual review from people who don%26#39;t have an agenda (i.e. ';don%26#39;t stay there because there%26#39;s bugs, you should stay at ......';). If anyone has a real review I would appreciate it.

If the name on the door is ';Marriott';, you should expect a decent accomodation. It is not of the caliber of their newer oceanfront resorts, but is pretty decent,

We have visited friends who have stayed there and the apartments are similar to what you would get with a high end condo rental. Plus they have activities such as an onsite tennis pro, and help with tee times.

It is very ';decent'; (IMHO, more than decent, but they don%26#39;t have gold-plated faucets or a swim-up-bar - LOL) - very nice, clean, well-appointed, well-furbished, very comfortable, etc. We stayed in their sister resort, Harbour Point (which shares the same amenities, etc.) in June (2007) and could not have been more pleased. Do not be worried about a recent review that was posted that was extremely negative. If you look closely, you will see that the review was based on an experience in 2005. Even if all of those conditions did exist then, the Marriott completely renovated the units recently, and there was no sign of any of those difficulties when we stayed just two months ago.

Please relax and expect a good experience and have fun. I myself have spent too much time worrying over overly negative reviews (this happened to us last year, too, when we were booked at a resort in Williamsburg, VA. Some of the reviews made us worry that we were going to be staying in third world accommodations - this could not have been further from the reality). You must realize that some people cannot be pleased no matter what, and will always find or create problems. While I don%26#39;t doubt the veractiy of some reviews, certainly issues can easily be blown out of proportion. We are Marriott owners and have never stayed in a ';terrible'; Marriott property. I am sure there are exceptions, but you can probably count on the Marriott name.

PS - I did post a ';real'; review. I did not embellish it in any way - I certainly have no reason to do so and no stake in Marriott. Please read the good reviews as well as the negative ones.
