What hotels are closest to the boardwalk???

I have never been to Myrtle Beach but am planning a vacation for my family, which includes 3 kids, during Easter break. I have no idea where to stay. I don%26#39;t know the area at all. I would like to stay as close to the boardwal as possible. Any ideas??? Thanks-Ann

oh eah---what is there to do down there??

What hotels are closest to the boardwalk???

I dont think there is a boardwalk..as in Atlantic City, Wildwood..

What hotels are closest to the boardwalk???

Hi Anna, first there is plenty to do here, thats why its such a popular destination. However, we do not have a boardwalk. We have an area that goes by many names, the old pavillion area, the ';strip';, some call it downtown, but no boardwalk YET, they are talking about building one but not at this time. Grand Strand of which Myrtle Beach is a part of is 60 miles long from Litchfield Beach, Pawleys Island, Murrells Inlet to the south of Myrtle Beach all the way north thru North Myrlte Beach and Cherry Grove. If you were to stay close to the Old Pavillion area, the ';strip'; you will find a few beach shops, couple restaurants, Ripley%26#39;s museum and haunted house, but there isn%26#39;t enough to do in that area IMO to plan my vacation around it. The resorts are much closer together, the traffic is much heavier on Ocean Blvd, its noiser, more crowded. And no matter where you stay you are going to want to drive around, MB is not really a walking destination.

Plan now as Easter, Spring Break are very popular times to visit. We have plenty of Putt Putts, NASCAR SPEEDPARK, Dolphin cruises, Aquarium, Alligator Adventure, on and on.

I suggest if you haven%26#39;t done so go to Myrtlebeachonline.com, on home page left hand side is a link for vacationers. You might get some more info there.

Telling you where to stay is so very subjective, each person on here will tell you somewhere different and tell you why they like it or don%26#39;t like it. Its like me saying I am going to NYC where should I stay!

What is your price range, do you want resort, condo, house

thanks hart.. I knew you would do a better job at answering..

:))

see you soon!!!

oops!!--no boardwalk! See--I really don%26#39;t know the area. Price doesn%26#39;t matter. I just want a clean hotel %26amp; good area stay in. I was reading reviews about the Dunes Village Resort, what do you think?--good location?? Thanks for the info!~Ann

-Dunes Village Resort

-Island Vista Resort

-Paradise Towers at the Breakers Resort

-Long Bay Resort

Actually they had a 3 block cement walk in front of the Pavilion which was torn down. The Pavilion was at 9 N. Ocean Blvd. They are going to build a mile long boardwalk, but I don%26#39;t think they%26#39;ve done it yet.

A boardwalk like they have at Atlantic City would be impossible because most of the hotel property goes right up to the beach. The customers merely walk right out of the hotel onto the beach area. Some even have pools between the hotel and the beach. A board walk would ruin that sort of thing. The little shops, shows, etc. are mainly across from the hotels a block or two away.

Take a look at this. You%26#39;ll see what I mean.

Compared to the summer months...Easter is practically deserted on Ocean Boulevard! With Easter being early, it will just be that much more so. It%26#39;s a great time to visit!

We were in Myrtle Beach one year for Easter. It was April 1st and the air temps were 71. It is a nice time to be there. As for swimming, it might be too cool, but sunbathing will be ok. Almost all the hotels on the ocean have indoor pools and lazy rivers.

This past Easter weather was not so great, it was cold and rainy. You can%26#39;t ever tell. They are talking about a boardwalk and someday will have one in some shape or fashion. Where exactly it will be located and where it will go, another story.
