Last minute trip to Myrtle Beach, hotel help!

Hello, my friend and i will be going to Myrtle Beach and need a place to stay Aug 2-5. I see the Driftwood Ocean Front Rooms are $142 a night. What we are looking for is somewhere cheap and within walking distance of the beach. Any other better suggestion than that? Thanks in advance,

I%26#39;m booked Aug 4-7 at the Ocean Reef. Reviews at Trip Advisor make it sound pretty awesome and the rate was $144/night. I haven%26#39;t stayed there before so I can%26#39;t neccessarily recommend but I did ALOT of investigating before pulling the trigger. Good luck!

Maybe Holiday Sands South as mentioned or Tropical Seas.

Be sure to read the reviews under MB Hotels to the left of any choices you have. That is valuable, IMO, in making a decision. Of course, the wise old saying ';you get what you pay for'; is so true when it comes to lodging.

Ok, i wanted the Holiday Sands North and the $108 beach front rooms, but they sold out (why did my friend plan this trip so late?). I see the Holiday Sands South has rooms in the Tiki I (Annex Building Across Street) for $76 a night. Is this worth while?

There are many other affordable oceanfront hotels on South Ocean Blvd. The Sportsman Inn, A Summer Wind, Gazebo Inn, Southern Breeze, Twilight Surf, Sea Horn, just to name a few. These are all around 120 a night for the dates you ask for an oceanfront room. Just do a search for the hotel name and Myrtle Beach, hopefully they may not all be full.

You may like summer wind it comes with free breakfast.Make your own free waffles. You can get a side room for $80.00.

Stayed there back in April.

I know the Ocean Front building at Holiday sands South is clean and well maintained but I don%26#39;t know about the annex building.

Thanks for the info!!! I got the summer wind for the 2-5. The free breakfast definately is a money saver. All they had left was two side rooms so i jumped on one of them. Cant beat the price of 100 a night with taxes and what not.

Thanks again,

G Man

A Summer Wind was a nice place, right on the beach and they let you use the pool all night long (even after the technical closing time). The hotel cleanliness is obviously nothing to write home about, but its not bad either and location is great and the staff is very nice. Would definately stay there again.
