River Dogs

Thinking about taking in a game while there on vacation for a few days. It looks close to downtown.

Is it easy in/out?

Any other tips?

Thanks

River Dogs

It is fun! It is very close to downtown but not within walking distance to the historical district. There is plenty of parking and you can always buy tickets at the entrance on game night. They rarely sell out.

You will be looking into the sunset during the first part of the game so bring your sunglasses and dress cool.

The ballpark is where Lockwood Drive meets Fishburn Street. The ballpark is named after Joe Riley, our mayor, and is commonly called ';The Joe';.

It is a fun family time and many night they end with fireworks over the Ashley River!

Thanks for the info. It looked like the date I picked was a fireworks night.

Just so happens my sons name is Joe so he thought that was cool.

Should be a relaxing end to a full day.

Just got back from tonight%26#39;s game about an hour ago. I%26#39;m feeling pretty badly today so we left @ the 7th inning, but the %26#39;Dogs were stinking up the joint anyways (4 very costly errors!).

The Joe is probably the best single A stadium in America. It%26#39;s just classy from top to bottom. You%26#39;ll definitely have a great time!

Warning: The place will be very crowded on a Fireworks night, so plan accordingly. They have a great show, too - we can hear the fireworks where we live across the river.

...too bad! My dogs always let me know when it is fireworks at The Joe. We can watch them out the 2nd floor windows. Their logo is so cute, too! Be sure to take a couple of tee-shirts home.

Go River Dogs! Advice: get there early as there are games, events that the kids can sign up for like sumo wrestling between innings.

I believe Bill Murray (Caddyshack fame) is part owner in the River Dogs franchise. There%26#39;s almost too much fun going on that you forget there is a baseball game happening on the field;-)

I LOVE going to the Riverdogs Baseball Games....

Alright, got the tickets for the Aug. 3 game. It%26#39;s a game with fireworks and after all the positive comments I%26#39;m really looking forward to it.

Floski...look at our team come back! This is from the Post %26amp; Courier:

One night after committing four errors, the Charleston RiverDogs made a highlight-reel%26#39;s worth of defensive stops to secure a 5-2 victory over the Savannah Sand Gnats on Tuesday in front of a crowd of 3,084 fans at Riley Park.

RiverDogs manager Torre Tyson, who was disgusted with his team%26#39;s play on Monday, was much more satisfied with what he saw on Tuesday.

';I%26#39;d say so. We did a nice job today. We executed a double cut (relay), which I haven%26#39;t seen in a while,'; Tyson said. ';We made five plus-plays on defense. That%26#39;s the way you win baseball games.';

';The ballpark is where Lockwood Drive meets Fishburn Street. The ballpark is named after Joe Riley, our mayor, and is commonly called ';The Joe';.';

OK, I%26#39;m confused! I thought they play in Mt. Pleasant, off Patriot%26#39;s Point Rd.?

cooter -

The College of Charleston Cougars play their games in Mt. Pleasant at the field that you%26#39;re talking about.

The Riverdogs play at ';The Joe';, one of the most awesomest parks in the country!
