Edisto Beach in January

We are thinking of taking a trip to Edisto Beach in January and are wondering about the weather and if restaurants are open this time

of year.

Thanks

Edisto Beach in January

We live part-time on Kiawah, which is just north of Edisto. January is quiet and the air temps are generally quite cool. The ocean water and the breeze off the ocean can be very cold. Still, on a sunny day you may have wonderful weather for walking on the beach, bicycling, and other outdoor activities. Nearby Charleston is always lively.

Thanks for your reply. We knew it would be too cold to swim.

We are mainly interested in walking on the beach, riding bikes

and eating good seafood. Are most of the restaurants open in

January? We do love Charleston and have been there several

times.

On Kiawah and Seabrook, most everything is open. Hopefully someone from Edisto will reply.

The Old Post Office should be open 2-3 days a week in January. I assume that Docksite and the Sea Cow would be open at least a few days a week. Also, the restaurant at the resort should be open some. Any of the house rental companies should be able to give you a more definitive answer.

Sea Cow will be open for breakfast and lunch. I imagine that the Plantation Grille will continue to remain open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Sunset Grille is usually open for lunch and dinner year round. Bucks Pizza will be open for lunch and dinner. Dockside is usually open year round for dinner. I don%26#39;t know about the Waterfront Restaurant. A new restaurant will be opening in the Pavilion in a few weeks; I do not know what their plans will be. The Pig (grocery store) sells hot takeout meals for breakfast and lunch year round. McConkey%26#39;s Jungle Shack just opened this year (burger and sandwich place); I don%26#39;t know if they plan to stay open during the winter.

We visited Edisto last year during New Years. I believe the temp. was high 70%26#39;s...it was quite warm. We all wore shorts. Even at night we enjoyed sitting on the porch. M. Taylor
