My 9 yo son and I had a great time. Weather was terrific. There were terrible riptides one day and we weren%26#39;t allowed in the water past our knees, but still had fun. We barely left the beach. I had planned on visiting several area attractions, but we both enjoyed the beach so much we didn%26#39;t leave. He mastered the skimboard while we there. We went to Midevil Times, he loved it. I was a little disappointed having seen it twenty years ago in California, it wasn%26#39;t nearly as good, but had a pleasant time. We went to Ripleys Aquarium at Broadway at the Beach. We both enjoyed it, but I wouldn%26#39;t consider it a must see. He got quite a kick out of feeding the ducks and fish. We ate at Margarittiville, it was a huge disappointment. The service was terrible and the food below average. He went on the rides there. We stayed at Dayton House. It was very clean and quite economical. It had a three star rating and I consider it an accurate reflection. Clean but dated, service average.

Marinda I was happy with Dayton House for the money. Likewise, we don%26#39;t spend much time in the room and I%26#39;d rather spend my money otherwise. I only look for clean and safe. The pools were well kept except for the indoor fresh water pool which did not have a working heater and it was uncomfortable. The room had a nice kitchette and we had breakfast in and made lunch, which saved both time and money. The maid service was reliable. My only negative comment is the stairs stank, so we used the elevators. The front desk was hit or miss, some staff were extremely helpful, a couple were borderline rude. One of the other guests shared that it was passed to the brothers from their father and they are more profit oriented than guest oriented.
Hey Cathy12,
Glad you guys had a good trip. How long did it take you from
Jersey? How were the air/water temps? My 10 yo is looking forward to boogie boarding.
We%26#39;re going in 4 weeks and praying it%26#39;s still warm to beach...
Thanks,
Fergy

Figuring a 45minute breakfast stop it should take between 11 and 11.5 hours without any accident or construction delays. In the Summer the stretch between Washington and Quantico has crazy (pockets of volume) delays.
Tony,
Thanks - should be a nice long trip with a 2, 4, %26amp;10 year old.. lol
Can%26#39;t wait!
Fergy
