Is there a Panera in Myrtle Beach? Never seen one, but they are growing so rapidly that I thought maybe there is one in some of the newer shopping areas.
Panera?
Not yet. McAllisters is your next best choice.
Panera?
Thanks, never heard of McCallisters but will check it out.
There are several McAllister%26#39;s in MB. One in the Arcadia Plaza near Kingston Plantation. Also one on the side road by the Coastal Grand Mall. (Almost next door to Rioz) There may another but I%26#39;m not sure. They seem to be popping up all over the southeast these days! I just got back from Charlotte, NC today and saw them everywhere.
It%26#39;s modified fast food. You place your order at their counter (lots of great sandwich choices. Soups and salads too.) Then you find a seat and they bring your order to you when it%26#39;s ready. They do make a great sweet tea! And it%26#39;s very nice inside. There%26#39;s also outdoor seating. It%26#39;s become a favorite place for us. I can walk to it from Kingston-not on hot days!
Hope you like it!
It does sound similar to Panera. We normally don%26#39;t do chains when on vacation (like to try local) but sometimes a quick bite for lunch or a bagel in the a.m. is just what we%26#39;re looking for.
You may want to try Atlanta Bread Company. They have a web site
where you can view the menu
Sopranofreak,
I highly recommend the Crystalite Cafe in Surfside. During our first trip in July we went and picked up a bunch of wonderful baked goods and brought them back to the house for everyone to enjoy. Wow, the muffins and specialty items were all amazing. The Gorilla Bread was awesome.
During our second trip one of our friends went there for breakfast and raved about it, and the other couple staying with us went there for lunch and said it was awesome. They are a full coffee bar with all kinds of choices of specialty coffees, expresso%26#39;s latte%26#39;s and frozen coffees. They are also know for their sandwiches especially their chicken salad!
We wanted to go back so bad that we had breakfast there again the morning we were leaving for home.
The food is great, the place is a lively quaint place featuring art from local artists. If you want a Panera kind of experience from a local (non-chain) establishment Crystalite Cafe is a great choice!

Thanks Ron, I%26#39;m definitely going to try Crystallite. I love finding non-chains. That%26#39;s one of the best things about TA. We%26#39;re actually staying in Surfside (for the first time) so that will work out good.
Sopranofreak,
It%26#39;s easy to find right on Business 17 and if you or your family likes sweets be sure to try the Gorilla Bread, it%26#39;s AWESOME! When we bought a bunch of things to take back to the house we purchased $35 worth of baked goods. (I also had a Restaurant.com certificate) not sure if they still have one there.
Anyhow someone had just sat down to eat breakfast and ask for some Gorilla Bread and she said I%26#39;m sorry to say the Gentleman walking out the door just bought all of the Gorilla Bread. He offered to buy some from me! lol
I%26#39;m sure you will enjoy this great local establishment.
Ron
