Help me choose! Quick

I am trying to decide b/t the following rentals:

Captain%26#39;s walk ($1800) oceanfront

Shipyard Plantation - The greens ($1260)

North Forest Home ($1850)

I like that the Captains Walk is oceanfront but the condo doesn%26#39;t seem quite as nice as the other rentals. The home in North Forest is 3BR for same price. Shipyard Plantation is good price but I am concerned about location. Could someone give me advice on beach location of these units and location/proximity to dining, etc. We are traveling with 2 teenagers. TIA

100% Captains Walk. It is a fantastic place to stay. Perfect location and right next door to the Marriott and Hilton, which have nice restaurants. Also walking distance to Alexanders.

I am prejudiced, since I own a rental unit at Captains Walk, and also serve on the Condo board.

Of all the regimes (that what we call condo%26#39;s in SC) CW is considered the best, and has served as a model for most of the others. it is the only regime which has oceanfront views from both the Living Room, and master bedroom. As cwiggi stated it is a short walk to both the Hilton and Marriott, and their oceanfront bars.

Shipyard has no oceanfront rentals at all, tho they do have beach access next to the Crown Plaza hotel.

I doubt that the North Forest beach rental is oceanfront. Oceanfront in NFB is much more expensive than the PD villas, Many renting upwards of $5000 per week in season. Many of the older properties are teardowns. that is if sold, the value of the building is negligible, but the land is more valuable than the building. It is possible to be several blocks from the beach there.

Thanks for the advice. I decided to take the Captain%26#39;s Walk rental. I rented from Sea Turtle getaways and they were very helpful and accomodating....

For what it%26#39;s worth, I think you probably made the best choice. We just returned from a week in Shipyard, and the only thing we didn%26#39;t like about it was the (poor) beach access. We too like being right on the beach.

We knew our unit%26#39;s location was ';near'; the beach, but the beach accesses (walk several blocks and down a residential street, and the one near the Crown Plaza that you can drive to with the provided permit) were not as easy as we%26#39;d imagined. Finding a place to park is difficult, and the walk wasn%26#39;t very convenient. I%26#39;d definitely go for ';right on the beach'; next time.

Shipyard is lovely, though, with many amenities, and we were happy with our accommodations at Port O%26#39;Call. We just needed to be closer to the beach!

We had little problem finding places to eat, but they weren%26#39;t inside Shipyard. We aren%26#39;t fancy eaters, and we enjoyed the Old Oyster Factory and similar restaurants--very easy to find, at least with a GPS. We didn%26#39;t like the ones in the shopping areas as much, and parking is the pits at times.

Have fun!!

We are back from HH and I just wanted to post and tell everyone thanks for the tip on the Captain%26#39;s Walk. The condo was in a fabulous location and we loved the Palmetto Dunes area. I would rent here again if we ever go back. Our rental was a little old and in need of major updating but it was clean and spacious with a wonderful view! Thanks again for the advice. You can%26#39;t go wrong with the Captain%26#39;s Walk or the Palmetto Dunes area!

And you should be proud of CW, it%26#39;s very nice. But I hope you meant that only of the choices given, CW is the only one with ocean views from both LR and MBR.

I am familiar with the Sea Cloisters which offers similar views, and with Beachside Tennis which has views of the ocean from LR, MBR, and Guest BR.
