Weather Report

We are flying into Savannah on Saturday to spend 5 days on HH. Would like to know what your local weather forcasters are saying for this week-end. It may not look too good for Sat and Sunday?? Possibly tropical storms??

Weather Report

Living as I do in the Low Country, at this time of year we are checking the NOAA and other sites several times of day.

There is a system out there named 99L which could develop into a tropical storm and hit the atlantic coast over the weekend. At this time the system is encountering wind shear from a low front which is inhibiting further development. Nevertheless the system is expected to become a tropical storm over the next two days.

There are several tracking projections for this storm, most of which indicate landfall in North Carolina. One projection indicates a landfall just north of Pawleys Island which is about 90 miles north of us.

The local weather is expected to be in the eighties for the rest of this week, with a possibility of thunderstorms on Friday.

-thanks for your post.. please keep us informed.. If the storm hits 90 miles north will that impact HH very much? We are concerned about flying into Savannah on Saturday..

Finally reaching Topical Depression strength Gabrielle has been named.

It is expected to make landfall around Cape Lookout NC. It will not effect the Hilton Head Area.

Thanks for the update Stan! Were headed your way tomorrow. Hoping maybe the storm will bring some waves.
