THE nicest hotel/resort in Hilton Head?!?!??

My husband and I are thinking about driving to HHI for a short getaway September 13-17. What, in your opinion, are some of the NICEST hotels or resorts? We don%26#39;t have children, so we%26#39;re just looking for luxury and a relaxing weekend at the beach. Thanks in advance for suggestions!

THE nicest hotel/resort in Hilton Head?!?!??

My husband and I went for the first time to HH and stayed at the Hitlon Oceanfront Resort in the Palmetto Dunes area and loved it. We were right on the beach and the hotel was one of the nicest and well run I%26#39;ve ever been too. We don%26#39;t have kids so we loved the adults only pool. It was so quiet and peaceful. We didn%26#39;t eat much at the hotel but when we did we had excellent meals.

Unfortunately I don%26#39;t have much to compare it to since we%26#39;ve only stayed there but I would highly recommend it.

THE nicest hotel/resort in Hilton Head?!?!??

I have always stayed in a conda in Palmetto Dunes but from what I hear, the Westin is the nicest resort on the island. The Marriott and Hilton are nice too but I have heard the Westin is nicer.

For oceanfront, I think the Westin is your best choice.

We have been going to HH for years and think Sea Pines is the nicest plantation by far. There is a Marriott Grande Ocean Resort ( don%26#39;t get confused with the other hotel there... it isn%26#39;t that nice) or you may want to stay in a villa. We always stay at Beachside Tennis Villas and they are right on the beach. Contact Sea Pines Plantation directly and ask to be in building( A only )on an upper floor. They have nightly rentals. Another good rental Co. is Beach Properties of HH 1-800-672-5155. We have rented unit 1832 and it has a large balcony, super views and is directly oceanfront. This complex has a nice pool and dolphins love to swim right out in front. There is also an island you can see from your balcony. You are within walking distance to The Salty Dog a great place to have a cocktail! A nightly villa will cost the same as a hotel room and you will have a kitchen etc. The beach in Sea Pines is gorgeous and you get to walk by some super mansions. The BEST golf courses and bike paths are in Sea Pines! Sea Pines is more upscale than the other plantations in our opinion. We have an oceanfront home and are very pickey! Enjoy your trip!

I believe you are mistaken in your post. Marriott%26#39;s Grande Ocean is not a hotel, but a timeshare, and is not in SeaPines, but at South Forest Beach.

Some people want hotels because they want the amenities of hotels. hotels offer daily housekeeping, have Spas, onsite restaurants, Beachside bars. Villas do not.

Many posters have had luck using Hotwire for deals. Search for it in the the search box on the top of the forum.

As for Hotels

The most recent Renovation has been to the Marriott Hotel in Palmetto Dunes. They just finished a two year project. They may be the best on the island on this time,

I don%26#39;t think you can go wrong with any of the big three. Hilton, Marriott, or Westin. They are all waterfront, have all hotel amenities, including Spas, Oceanfront access, Beach Bars, etc.

the Crown Plaza in Shipyard is also nice but is missing some amenities such as a Spa, and direct oceanfront. It is next door to the Shipyard beach house, and the main attraction is the Van Der Meer Tennis center which is right next door.

Two other smaller hotels stand out. they are more like B+B%26#39;s than hotels. they are the Inn at Harbor Town, and the Main Street Inn. neither of these are oceanfront, but a great way to spend a quiet romantic sojourn.
