Can anyone tell me where in South Carolina is a good place to visit for shrimping, clamming, crabbing? We are looking for some place where we can just go as a family to the water and have fun catching things on our own and not deal with the hassle of renting a boat or anything.

most any coastal area of south carolina is a good place to catch crabs or shrimp. there is hilton head, edisto island, kiawah island,
north myrtle beach (very touristy, but if you rent a channel house in the cherry grove area you will catch crabs) and various other island beach communities with lots of tidal pools to crab and fish and catch shrimp. they say edisto island is a perfect place for this.
