Best route from ATL?

We%26#39;re leaving for MB tomorrow. This is our first time visiting MB and we are staying @ Dayton House. The directions below are from mapquest. Is this the best route? Does anyone know any better way? Thanks!!

Merge onto I-285 E / GA-407 E via EXIT 4A toward GREENVILLE / AUGUSTA. 19.2 miles

Merge onto I-20 E via EXIT 46 toward AUGUSTA (Crossing into SOUTH CAROLINA). 277.0 miles

I-20 E becomes W DAVID H MCLEOD BLVD / I-20 SPUR E. 1.7 miles

Turn LEFT onto W PALMETTO ST / US-76. 3.9 miles

Turn RIGHT onto N NEW ST / SC-S-21-102. %26lt;0.1 miles

Turn LEFT onto E PALMETTO ST / US-301 N / US-76 E. 0.6 miles

Turn LEFT onto S PIEDMONT ST. %26lt;0.1 miles

Turn RIGHT onto E PALMETTO ST / US-301 N / US-76 E. Continue to follow US-76 E. 17.9 miles

Stay STRAIGHT to go onto SC-576 E. 3.1 miles

that%26#39;ll get you there, and you are much better off arriving on friday that on saturday. so good luck and enjoy your trip! there is a way through conway where you go straight at the light instead of turning right onthe main road into myrtle beach, which can often be clogged. we go straight through the town square of conway and pick up hwy 90 i thin kit is there, and by pass the beach traffic.

Best route from ATL?

Trouble with those directions is they run you through downtown Florence. As you can tell from the directions there are several streets and intersections plus a dozen stoplights.

As you approach Florence on I 20 you%26#39;ll start seeing Beach Traffic signs. These will direct you north on I 95. As you get close to I 95 Jct, stay in left lane. That lane will run you off and onto I 95 north.

I 95 north 6-8 miles to exit 170. Signs will still be directing you. At top of ramp bear right onto Rt 327.

Out Rt 327 maybe five miles to second stoplight. That should be Rt 76 E. Turn left. Yes this way looks and is a few miles longer than MapQuest but it by passes downtown. More often than not it saves you time and aggrevation.

Follow Rt 76E to Marion. Stay in right lane. It will run onto Rt 576 which really isn%26#39;t more than a one mile feeder road over to Rt 501. Ran this way for years before I ever realized it even had a route number.

Rt 501 into MB. Across Intercoastal Waterway you%26#39;ll see Rt 17 by-pass. Take the By-pass 17 north.

Look for Broadway At The Beach on the right. Very, very big shopping complex. Just before you get to Broadway you%26#39;ll see 21st Ave north. Turn right and follow 21st out to Ocean Blvd. Turn left on Ocean Blvd and Dayton House is couple blocks north on the right side.

During the summer on the weekends, traffic can be a nightmare through Conway on Rt 501. Shouldn%26#39;t be a problem for you tomorrow but if you think it might be, there is a way around Conway.

Town before Conway is Aynor. Just south of Aynor you%26#39;ll see Rt 22 to North Myrtle Beach.

Follow Rt 22 to Rt 31. Take Rt 31 south. Few miles south you%26#39;ll see an overpass across Rt 31. Second exit is Grissom Parkway. Take it. Circles you around and over Rt 31.

Grissom Parkway runs down into MB. Becomes Central Parkway. Follow it down to 29th Ave north.

Turn left and run 29th out to Ocean Blvd. Turn right and follow Ocean Blvd south a few blocks. Dayton House will be on the left.
