We are possibly coming in to hilton head at the end of January. We have two girls 9 and 6 and I am going between disney and the marriott. I know the marriott has and indoor pool but disneys are heated. Does hilton head have a lot to do for kids that age or just swimming and going to the beach?
Oh yeah, Are there any direct flights from milwaukee that anyone knows of, all I am seeing is 1 stop.
Any information on hilton head would be great! Thanks!

The weather the end of January usually has highs in the upper 50%26#39;s so your options are going to be a bit limited. The beach is going to be a bit chilly and unless the pool is really heated or indoors you will probably not be happy. That time of year you really need to be in Florida to get the kind of temperatures that make for a fun family beach vacation.
Hilton Head starts being better from a weather standpoint in late March or April (although it is still a bit random). Check out the average temperatures on weather.com or equivalent.
As far as your hotel choices, I have stayed at the Disney resort and enjoyed it but would prefer the Marriott or Westin. To be honest, renting a house with a pool or a condo in Sea Pines (where you have so many varied activities for the kids) would be even better. We love Sea Pines (www.seapines.com) and have not looked back at the resorts after staying their once.
HHI is one of our favorite places. I hope you work out a trip as you will not regret it.

Thank you so much for the information!
While we can have weather in the fifties the norm here is a high in the mid sixties in January. Temperatures in the seventies is also not usual. for the past few years, we have had only one day a year for a low below freezing.
It appears that there is some effect from the gulf stream as far north as Charleston. So Coastal areas in the low country are warmer than the rest of the state, and coastal areas upstate like Myrtle Beach and the North Carolina beaches. that difference is as much as 10 degrees,
Each of the choices you mention do have kids activities. Additionally there is a children%26#39;s museum on the island called '; The Sandbox';. you can also find activities appropriate to the season at the Coastal Discovery Museum.
There will be a lot of changes at the Savannah airport in the coming months. the airport just expanded it%26#39;s gates to 15 from 10. I do know that we will have direct service to Miami starting in September. I expect at least one new carrier serving the market soon. As for Milwaukee, I have no idea.

We stayed at the the disney HHI resort several years back. They had lots of acitivities (during our summer visit) for the kids and families. Some were free, some you had to pre-register for and pay a fee. We did enjoy the resort, grounds and activities... the only drawback is the resort%26#39;s beach access/clubhouse is across the main road (note: busy to cross with young ones on bike or foot) and in another plantation so you must take the shuttle or drive. I would look into what activities they have during the winter. If I remember correctly, they had less activites scheduled for the off-season. Hope this helps.
There is a bike trail and walkway under the road to cross to access the beach fromr Disney but it is a long walk but a nice bike ride.
